Getting StARTed: Happy momma peach tree
Well isn't this a lovely plant family. The baby peaches are so cute! And the mama tree is well seems happy. A picture of tree happiness. This is my submission for “Getting stARTed” I thought it sounded like a cool little challenge, and while I am in really no need for creativity right not( Seriously I have an art “to do list” that almost a page long!) I thought it might be nice to mix up my usual artwork a little bit. Anyway I decided to choose the following themes from the promp videos:
Warrior
Princess
Animal
Boy
Self-Portrait
Portrait
Tree
And
Skull
(I didn’t choose Goblin or Ghosts as an option because those themes seemed to gory and dark for me, and yeah I know the irony that I chose skull over these but I could think of ways in which a skull could be used in a natural non-gory/dark way)
Anyway getting back to the prompts , I decided to do what the guest artists did on the videos to choose their themes: Mix papers up in a bowl and chose one. So I wrote each theme on a piece of paper and folded them evenly and threw them in a bowl and shook it around and choose the first on I got:
Which was Tree
Now the first thing that I think of when it comes to a tree is a pine needle tree or a giant Oak tree (the usual trees). Then I thought of cool Palm trees and I finally came up with this idea:
A fruit tree:
specifically a momma peach tree with her little baby peaches on her branches.
I thought that was the most creative and best idea ever for a tree, I had it perfectly pictured in my mind. So I also decided to go with drawing it how the guest artists did their drawings: Take a piece of Paper and some colored markers and just start drawing. So I drew it from start to finish in one sitting without redoing anything with only markers. It was a challenge for me because I usually do things in sittings and redo a lot of things but nope not this time. Anyways it was going well in the first part but after a while the face of the momma tree began to get a little weird, so here are the results, and it turned out okay...yeah...:| (Blank Stare)
