Winter (Haiku)

Cold-blue all around

Wind and snow silently shroud

winter essence

寒い 青徧

風と雪 の覆い

冬 本質 )

A Haiku dedicated to the nature of the season of Winter

This was based on my first Haiku which I did in my 6th grade E.L.A. class: in this class the teacher wanted all of us to create our own Haikus:

So I decided to do a haiku on my favorite natural subject: Winter. While winter seems to be the most despised and loathed season, I loved it and it was (and still is) my favorite. And as I wrote it, it turned out soo well for a Haiku it sounds just like a traditional Japanese haiku. I think the teacher was impressed too. For the rest of the day I felt soo proud I made that masterpiece...but about a decade or soo later I lost it and could not find it! I looked everywhere for it but no sign of it I was sad but I decided to recreate it from what I remembered it sounded like. So this is my remastered/resurrected haiku about what the older one it was based on was like, so I hope you enjoy it.

(The Japanese translation is not a 100% accurate since Japanese and English are very different languages the syllables are different so the words used are slightly different but are about the same meaning).

Date: 2/14/2019  (Based on an 2009 haiku)
